the rhino principle

The British historian Sir Paul Johnson wrote about this principle, which he calls the Rhino Principle. It caught our attention when we were discussing how best to organize the 21st-century Democratic-Republican Party.

Johnson’s Rhino Principle, which we have adopted, goes like this: When a rhino encounters a crisis, the rhino chooses to do one of two things. It will either make a lot of noise and shoo its crisis away or it will put its mighty horn down and charge through it.

That’s our Party! It’s time to get something done for the American people in politics today at the federal, state, and local levels.
